Section 6: Frack off
A tidal wave of extreme energy extraction is sweeping across the globe, of which fracking is a major component. The impacts are endless, such as water contamination, major health issues, climate change, threat to wildlife and air pollution. Huge numbers of people and the environment are directly impacted.
The fracking threat is spreading in the UK, but with it the number of communities ready to resist it grows, with over 200 groups formed across the country. This project explores the lives of environmental anti-fracking activists in Kirby Misperton, North Yorkshire. In 2018, succeeded in stopping the energy company Third Energy, in this area. After 14 months packed up camp moving to locations more in need.
